Saint Guilhem le Désert and the Gorges de l'Hérault (25 Km))
One of the most beautiful french village, IXth century abbey, closter, organ with specific repertoire, which gives a special private atmosphere in the concerts. 25 km drive from Cantercel and 8h walk on the GR 74, the village stands on the Gorges de l'Hérault. You can also visit caves, the Grotte de Clamouse and more north, the Grotte des Demoiselles. You can bath in the river, go canoeing, walk in this naturally preserved site.
The Lac du Salagou (24 Km)
It is surrounded by an attractive landscape. Water lays in red rocks punctuated by golden brooms in spring time. Hiking path, typical villages of Celles and Liausson, a rich ecosystem, exceptionnal sites such as Mourèze Corrie, just to enjoy and stimulate your senses. 24 km away from Cantercel, you can have a full day of swimming, sailing and why not, wine tasting.
